Ground engaging tools: wear you can plan for

Teeth, edge protectors, tooth adapters, pins and bushings protect the bucket’s cutting edge. They don’t fail suddenly — they wear progressively, and get replaced before the wear reaches the bucket’s structure.

Covers

teeth and edge protectors, tooth adapters, pins and bushings (GET — ground engaging tools), on loader buckets (LHDs/Scooptrams) and underground loaders.

Which machines

Buckets on the Scooptram ST7LP, ST-1030, ST14 and ST18 and the Toro LH517, LH621 and LH621i — the front-bucket loaders in the machines catalogue. (The TH663i and MT720 are haul trucks with no bucket, so they’re not listed here — they do carry cylinders, axles/driveline and an engine, and those are covered in the respective family pages.)

Where to find the data

The tooth or edge-protector reference is usually embossed on the part itself, on the face that faces the operator once mounted. If it’s already too worn to read, measurements work just as well: base width and mounting type.

On remanufacturing

It doesn’t apply in the strict sense — these are wear parts, they get replaced, not reconditioned. What we do assess is repairing the bucket’s tooth adapter frame when it’s deformed by impact, before writing off the whole structure.
