Where to find the data
The axle number is usually stamped on a plate welded to the axle housing, not on the machine’s chassis — mixing up the two is the most common mistake when requesting a reference, and the one that delays a quote the most.
Remanufacturing
Differentials and planetary gear sets have the best remanufacturing recovery when wear is from rolling contact rather than a break — often avoiding a full axle replacement.
